Very well-written, in general, and an interesting storyline, but hard to read because of the perspective choices. On a single page, readers are given information on various characters' emotions and thoughts, bouncing from paragraph to paragraph. For example, one of the characters, a dog named Luna is given a personality and her thought processes are known to the readers, but in the very next paragraph we catch a glimpse of one of the Veterinarians' thoughts, then back to the dog's. This makes for confusing and jittery reading. While I didn't enjoy this "bouncing around," I have to say that I enjoyed other aspects of the author's writing. The characters are very interesting, and even peering into the dog's mind was compelling, but the way this was structured was hard to get around for me, personally.Product details

Its a good book. I was hooked on it. I seriously can't wait to read the next one. I love how the take on immortals and how their involvement in the world.
For those who liked the Twilight Book Series or enjoyed the Grimm TV Series, this is a good start to another great series by Leri Lake. I thoroughly enjoyed it from beginning to end and look forward to the rest of the Trilogy. Keep it coming!

It is hard to get me into vampire books, but I couldn't put this one down! I read it twice!

Shattered Fate hold a promising story line of how vampires might actually be accepted by the modern day world along with a new scientific view of them and their transformations. However i found the lack of reactions from the sub-characters kept me longing for something more that the story didn't offer. It does flow smoothly but with little sense of time passing making you wonder if the books events transpire in a matter of weeks rather than actual months. However i would still suggest it as a good read for friends. My hope that the next books will answer many of the unasked questions.
