Not my usual reading genre but I always like to stretch my horizons. This short tale of M/M love was just the right size & hit all the right notes to convey love is love, no matter what the packaging. There was just a dash a heat which was great b/c it concentrated more on the story than action.

A man who was adrift in a sea of hate finds love when he least expects or feels he deserves it w/a showing of how important family ties & support is for a couple. The "Christmas gifts" brought tears to my eyes & spoke of real lasting love & just how important it is & how much of a difference it can make in a life.

A must read for hetros who rarely get a glimpse into the life of a gay.

Waiting For Snow edition by Jake C Wallace Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews

I'm a sucker for a good m/m romance and this is certainly one of the best I've read in a while.
The story line is carefully plotted and beautifully executed. If you are sentimental or at all romantically inclined this book is for you.
I look forward to checking out other books by J C Wallace.
Very sweet but oh my god, the drama! It was a little overdone but was still a good story. I would have liked more about after they get together and a little more about who jackson really was. It was kinda like he just appeared and nothing was ever really said about him other than his job. We know his name, proffession and that he accidentaly caused more drama but thats it, oh and he has a sister. We know nothing about him, personality wise. Otherwise a good story, even if it probably could have used more expanding.
I really enjoyed this Christmas story from J C Wallace. I didn't realize when I clicked on it that it isn't new, and is indeed his first story if I'm reading it correctly.

I would definitely have liked MORE, as it was a little too short for me. Also, I liked how the author presented the domestic abuse that been occurring and the closure we got during the story. Dain was a very believable character, and Jake kind of was. I would really have liked to know more about Jake.

I would definitely recommend you hit "one click" for this one!
This quick like read packs a lot of punch. I was quickly drawn into Dain, feeling every bit of his sorrow and loneliness.

This book won't be for everyone though. Dan is dealing with an abusive past and a bigoted father who publicly humiliated him. Parts were hard to read, mainly because the scenes seemed so real, like I was actually witnessing his father's actions.

There were a few hot scenes but to me, they were minor compared to the healing of Dain and the support he received from Jake.

Overall it was a great story showing just how much the finding right person can do did you.
First let me say that there was nothing glaringly wrong with this story, it was quite short but that was expected going in. The Main characters, Dain and Jake, were perfectly likable. Jake fell a little flat, into a basic 'nice guy hero' mold, but I think that was more due to the story's length than the author's skill. My biggest issue was the insta-romance, the characters had barely known each other for 24 hours and had hardly more than an hour of conversation between them and Dain was head over heels even with his misgivings based on his past. But, I think that's a fairly universal problem for these super-sort romances. I think given another hundred pages the author could have fleshed out the plot and the characters, given more time for something to develop and more exploration of Dain's healing.
This book is a bit rushed in plot development. I think there was room for going a bit more in depth, but hey, I didn't write it.

Dain has been abused by his father as well as most recent boyfriend. He also seems a little bit naive. But he is lucky enough to meet Jake, and life takes a happy turn for Dain.

The relationship between Dain and Jake was cute. There were some unrealistic parts to the story. For example, I don't think that Jake would actually stand by while Dain confronts his father. I can't imagine people letting Dain's boyfriend get away with what he did. OH, and it was very coincidental that Jake's sister is a former colleague of Dain's. But you know what, stranger things have happened, so I bought it.

Overall, sort of appealing story, and it's only 52 pages long, so even if you don't love it, not a huge loss.
My rating for this story is 2.5 round up to 3.

This story was well-written but it didn’t work for me as well as I would have liked.

At Fifty-two pages, there wasn’t enough length to make the connection between the two MCs believable, one of whom had suffered brutal verbal and physical abuse from a parent and in two different relationships.

Dain was very downtrodden and justifiably so. His connection with Jake felt like “insta-love. I think more pages were needed to make this a credible connection between the MCs.

I will reiterate that I liked the author’s writing and I would definitely try reading something else he has written.
